Neo, Naturally Australian is the brainchild of Sydneysider Mona Webb. An engineer who’d worked for some of the world’s largest petrochemical companies, Mona foresaw a need for organic, pure skincare, based on ancient Ayurvedic principles.
With little in the way of assistance or support, she set about making her vision a reality and developed Australia's most natural skin solutions range. “While all of my friends were working for giant engineering companies and saving and investing in property, I decided to save what little I had and put it all into manufacturing skincare and tea, much to my parent’s woe!” says Mona.
Both Neo’s skincare range and herbal tea range are made using Ayurvedic recipes – a major differentiator to other leading tea or skincare producers. All products follow Neo’s motto of being locally and responsibly made using organic ingredients and eco-friendly packaging.
Drinking Neo’s teas delivers various benefits for the skin. “It’s all about working from the inside out,” says Mona.
Neo is famous for its Complexion Herbal Tea blend that spruces up one’s insides. The Brahmi Memory Tea infusion is perfect for clarity of mind and relaxation, while Gorgeous Green is a lovely non-bitter Australian green tea that enhances metabolism. Try the Ginger Jiva for a perfect yogic tea blend that balances your doshas. The range of 15 delicious blends all come gorgeously packaged in recycled glass apothecary jars.
At The Rocks Market, Neo offers free tastings and trials to visitors. From its humble beginnings of selling Neo tea and skincare at local markets, Neo is now available throughout Australia, at 21 events annually, in stores, overseas and online.
Neo won the 2015 Green Award presented by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW for sustainable, organic, Australian-made product produced with a low carbon footprint.
Mona’s gamble of a big lifestyle change, from working in petrochemical companies to creating beautiful, natural skincare and tea, has certainly paid off!
