What makes a great market? If it's about passionate people selling things you want to buy in a pretty cool location then
The Rocks Markets is one of Sydney's greatest.

Where else can you buy dresses and bags designed by the stallholder, one-off jewellery, original artworks and prints, local produce and freshly cooked food in a place where you can feel the sun on your face and catch glimpses of our gorgeous harbour?

The Rocks Foodies Market
10am - 4pm Fridays

It's said that only good things happen on Fridays. In The Rocks it's all about good things you can eat and enjoy in the lovely European-style Jack Mundey Place.

We all have to eat so why not do it in the great outdoors? And while you're at it, stay longer to pick up flowers, fresh fruit, crusty bread, irresistible chocolate, olive oils, condiments and homewares as buskers coax laid back tunes from guitars and banjos.

Wander down for gourmet wraps and burgers, barbecued salmon, lamb kebabs, paella, Turkish gozleme and a whole range of Australian-made gourmet produce and remind yourself how lucky you are to live in the best city on earth.

The Rocks Weekend Market
10am - 5pm Saturdays and Sundays

Open every Saturday and Sunday year round, The Rocks Weekend Market is about more than just shopping-it's a Sydney institution.

Set amid the sandstone and cobbles, the colourful markets have grown to include more than 200 eclectic stalls. Visitors from near and far come to find fashion and accessories by emerging designers, locally-produced homewares, linen and beauty products and original photography, art, crafts and jewellery.

Many stallholders have been at the markets since the beginning so chances are you'll know a few faces. But that doesn't mean things always stay the same, in fact quite the opposite. There are always new stallholders and special fashion, food or craft events.

At the weekend market you'll find whatever you want-lazy strolls, a great meeting place or serious shopping-that's just the way it is around here.
