The Collections Australia Network (CAN) website is a cultural heritage resource for researchers, historians, students and the general public. CAN includes artefacts from Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority's archaeological collection. The collection is rich with objects from numerous archaeological digs including The Big Dig on Cumberland and Gloucester streets, the Harrington Street well, Dawes Point Battery and many more. Some of these artefacts are on display in The Rocks Discovery Museum, including ex-convict George Cribb's alcohol stil.

To search for the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority artefacts using the CAN website, click on the 'FIND collection items' button and type "CUGL" into the search box. CUGL stands for Cumblerland/Gloucester artefacts. In the future many more artefacts will be added from a variety of different archaeological sites.

Watch special projects heritage officer Zac Lambert talk about his work with Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority's online artefact project which allows academics, students and others to access our extensive collection of artefacts.
