the ROCKs Construction UPDATE
Works are underway that will significantly improve a number of buildings in The Rocks:
135 George Street
In preparation for a new tenant, the building is undergoing a heritage restoration of its façade, as well as a refresh of its external surfaces and internal base build works. Work commenced in July and is scheduled to be completed in late October 2018.
Level 1, The Rocks Centre
Installation of a new lift continues, along with internal base build works to prepare for a new tenant. The lift project commenced in June and is expected to be completed in mid-October 2018.
Coroners Court, 102-104 George Street
Work commenced in June to restore the external walls of the building as well as painting and repair the windows and doors. In addition, minor internal painting and repairs will also be undertaken. The project is expected to be completed in mid-December 2018.
cosette makes its move
Impressive sales growth sees Cosette move to a bigger space.
After outgrowing their old premises, designer fashion boutique Cosette has moved into bigger premises right next door at 140 George Street. The new store is more than double the size and has more room for Cosette to showcase its cut-priced premium brands.

Cruise arrival guide marketing opportunity

The guide is designed specifically for luxury cruise ships and informs short term visitors of the best of what Sydney has to offer, providing an effective way to target this lucrative niche market. The guide focuses on Sydney’s best shopping, attractions, activities, dining, tours and excursions with specialised itineraries and maps for ½ – 3 day stays.
This co-operative marketing approach reduces the cost for Rocks tenants to advertise to the highly lucrative Sydney Cruise Market.

light rail update
Construction work for the Light Rail continues in The Rocks with barriers to be removed by November 2018.
ALTRAC Light Rail are working towards having the construction substantially complete by the end of this year. Underground works are on track to be completed and street barriers removed in and around Circular Quay by November 2018.
Once the barriers are down, streetscaping and street furniture will be installed to finalise construction ahead of live testing in 2019.

hickson road reserve and first fleet park re-turn
The two parks will be closed throughout August while the lawn areas are rejuvenated.
After significant use during the Vivid Sydney and Bastille festivals, Hickson Road Reserve and First Fleet Park have been closed for re-turf and will reopen on 31 August, with the lawns refreshed and ready in time for spring.
Once these works are complete, Tallowoladah Lawn (in front of the MCA) will be assessed and repaired throughout September if necessary.
A field of hope at circular quay
A special installation honouring the lives of people touched by cancer.
To celebrate and remember all those touched by cancer, a spectacular field of hope will be installed at Tallawoladah Place (in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art) as part of Daffodil Day.
Daffodil tributes decorated by people affected by cancer will be planted on the lawn.
Each daffodil contains a special message from one of the Cancer Council’s supporters, honouring those touched by cancer and celebrating survivorship and hope for a brighter future. To find out more, visit the Cancer Council’s webpage.
