2018 National Rugby League (NRL) Season Launch

Nrl Launch

Expect plenty of footy fans in The Rocks as the NRL season kicks off.

All team captains will be at First Fleet Park on Thursday 1 March to launch the NRL season. There will be delicious food and refreshments on offer, with Dare, Café, Café Danielli, Gelatissimo and Munich Brauhaus all providing tasty treats, while The Observer, Phillips Foote and Fortune of War will all be giving away a complimentary beverage to NRL membership holders.

Come along, mingle with other fans, and get pumped for the season ahead.

Our New Sydney Ambassadors

Sydney Ambassadors

In partnership with the City of Sydney, The Rocks will soon be home to Sydney Ambassadors.

The Rocks trial program conducted by the City of Sydney, follows on from the successful cruise meet and greet program.

Volunteer ambassadors will roam the precinct, providing a friendly face, warm welcome, and advice to visitors about all that The Rocks has to offer, such as our many great restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. We will be giving all ambassadors a thorough breifing and tour of The Rocks.

For more information about the program, please visit cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/volunteer.

Welcome to Our Newest Tenants

Squidinky

There’s been a lot of activity over the summer with new tenants opening in The Rocks.

Be sure to drop in, say hello and support our newest tenants:

Smart Carte
Smarte Carte, a luggage storage facility, has now opened opposite the Overseas Passenger Terminal, providing baggage storage and transfers to cruise ship passengers. This makes it easier for these visitors to explore and enjoy the precinct hands-free.

Squidinki
Inspired by the humour of life, Squidinki is now open on Nurses Walk. Squidinki features illustrations by Max Mendez, who uses everyday products as a canvas for his whimsical illustrations. Bring a chuckle to your day with these fun items, which make great gifts.

L’Occitane
L'Occitane en Provence, now open on George Street, providing a taste of French Provence. For over 40 years, L'Occitane has drawn inspiration from Mediterranean art de vivre and traditional Provencal techniques to create natural beauty products dedicated to your well-being.

Taste of Australia
The Rocks Centre upgrade continues with the opening of Taste of Australia, featuring delicious Aussie delicacies that we all know and love including Tim Tams, Vegemite and the iconic Golden Gaytime.

Stop in and check out the fresh new lease on life that has been pumped into The Observer. The new-look includes modern Australia décor and an updated food and drink menu. Raise a toast to the lovely new courtyard with $5 Happy Hour drinks from 5pm–7pm every day.

Expect to see a new look also coming for the Orient Hotel. The Orient Hotel is currently closed for renovations but will be reopening in May with a great new fitout for punters to enjoy.

Shhh… it’s a secret (bar)

New Bar

A new small bar will soon be open in The Rocks – will you be able to locate it?

Set to be a new hot spot in The Rocks, a soon-to-open small bar will be a best-kept secret for those in the know.

Expect sophistication that’ll keep you coming back to this hidden gem.
