One of The Rocks’ best-kept secrets, Foundation Park only reveals itself by word of mouth or by chance. With access onto Gloucester Walk, it also leads deeper into the back lanes and alleys of The Rocks. The site was one of the last to be developed in The Rocks because of its challenging topography. The houses were built cheaply and by the 1940s all had been demolished. The site was not built on again and after careful archaeological excavation in the 1990s. The original dwellings were brought back to life with low dividing walls and steel furniture designed by renowned sculptor Peter D. Cole.
