Saké Restaurant & Bar is bringing new dishes to the mix courtesy of Tokyo-travelled and self-declared Japanophile, Chief Brand and Culinary Officer, Neil Perry AM.
Drawing inspiration from his many trips to Japan, Neil’s dishes balance washoku – or traditional Japanese food – with Saké’s much-loved contemporary spin and sense of fun.
Perry’s devotion to the finest Australian ingredients and sustainable practice shines through the menu, which showcases the work of some of the country’s most admirable producers. His signature dishes are complemented by seasonal cocktails that showcase food-friendly flavours and feature traditional Japanese ingredients.
Food is matched with lsquo Kozaemon sakes – a premium range from a 300-year-old boutique brewery in Japan and exclusive to Saké. All staff are trained in sake appreciation and will be more than happy to guide you.
Set within a funky designer space in a stunning heritage building, this contemporary Japanese restaurant is vast enough to offer something for everyone. Entertain, party or conference privately in one of the four private dining rooms, or enjoy banquet dining at one of the communal or fun traditional sunken dining tables. The sushi bar is the perfect place to dine solo or with one other, while booth seating provides a more intimate option. Order a la carte or from Saké’s range of banquet menus. There are even baby bento boxes for sophisticated, sushi-loving kids!
If you're after a light meal, there's a menu available at the bar, which also serves up a delicious array of sake and shochu cocktails. Open daily from late afternoon until the early hours, Saké’s stylish bar is the perfect spot for pre or post-theatre drinking or dining.
