On June 1st the NSW Government will relax restrictions to allow restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes to host up to 50 people.

Coronavirus has been tough for Aussies and Aussie businesses. Eat well and support local Sydney businesses by dining in with these gems, or order takeaway and delivery.

Let’s take this time to support our local businesses and connect with the awesome people in our lives. Call your family to plan that catch up meal. Schedule a romantic date night out with your better half. Have a beer at your favourite drinking hole with an old friend. And while you’re at it, why not share a delicious meal (or several) prepared by an awesome local business.

The hospitality industry has been hit hard but these legends are open and serving up delicious meals to dine in, takeaway or delivered to your door. Show your support and keep eating, drinking and shopping local. To get you started, here are a few of our favourite hospitality businesses and shops in The Rocks offering dine in, delivery or takeaway, physical distancing style.

Aslan Coffee Roasters

Just because you're physically-distancing doesn’t mean you can’t be filled up on caffeine. Get your friends together and catch up over their exceptional coffees, and maybe consider trying their delightful Tempeh Orek Burger while you're sitting in too. ASLAN Coffee Roasters source all their beans from ethical, traceable sources in Indonesia, and they’re offering free Sydney delivery on coffee orders over $19.

If you want to pick your food up, you can use the Hey You app to pre-order. Aslan are also offering all their takeaway meals for $10 or grab a small coffee with your meal for $12 total.

Baker’s Oven

This longstanding family business has been running in The Rocks for over 30 years and their doors have reopened for dining in.The friendly folk of Baker’s Oven are serving up their famous cakes and slices; there are also homemade pies, pastries and coffee to go. Pop in any time from 6am - 6pm daily for your baked goods to go. The team are also offering their full menu for takeaway.

Creperie Suzette

Creperie Suzette is sending a clear message to the public “We’re open!” This is the perfect spot to grab breakfast or lunch, with breakfast bagels, sweet and savoury crepes, galettes and coffees on ‘le menu’. It’s all delicious but our favorite is the La Pomme Cannelle with poached apple and cinnamon.

Creperie are also offering their whole menu for takeaway if you prefer to dine at home or in the office.

The Doss House

You can enjoy everything The Doss House has to offer as they're opening back up from Thursday 4 June! Treat yourself to your favourite whiskeys and cocktails with friends. Bookings are essential and won't be available for long, so call up The Doss House today to plan your overdue catch up or special celebration.

El Camino Cantina

Sydney's favourite mexican joint, El Camino Cantina has reopened for delivery and are opening for dine in from Wednesday 3 June. Dig into margaritas, wings, tacos, fajitas, nachos as well as free sombreros, chips and salsas.

Fortune of War Hotel

The Fortune of War Hotel is back up and running from Monday 1 June. Dig into the hearty pub fare and get the mates together so you can go through the impressive list of local and imported beers on the menu.

The Fine Food Store

This Brooklyn-style cafe and bar that locals flock tto has opened it's doors for dine in patrons. Grab your wholesome eats such as their frittata & salad special, and if you’re local you can also have farm fresh produce or even wine and beer delivered. If you need your coffee fix, never fear as you can enjoy your coffee inside, or to go.

Delivery is free for online orders over $25. Give The Fine Food Store a call, or email them to place your order. We also suggest giving the team a call to secure your spot if you want to dine in.

Firestone Sydney

This cafe is open for dine-in and offering takeout for your breakfast and lunch needs. Firestone's delicious menu is available from 7am - 4pm. Tuck into hearty lunch bowls including their kim chi bowl and pasta bowl. There's a great selection of burgers, wraps and toasties also available to meet your food cravings.

Gelatissimo Gelato

Gelatissimo serves Australia’s favourite gelato, including flavours like Peanut Butter & Choc Chip Cookies and a gold award winning mango sorbet. As of Monday 1 June, you can pop in store and eyeball all the flavours before making the tough decision - to buy 2, or 10 flavours?

Staying in? Don't worry, the gelato must go on - you can order via DoorDash, Deliveroo or UberEats to get your fix.

Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe

​While we’re on the topic of desserts, did you know Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe are opening up from Monday 1 June? Yep, it's the season for hot chocolates and the universe is giving you a sign. Live the dream eating gourmet desserts, waffles and icecream laced with luxurious Belgian chocolate.

For those of you wanting to indulge from home, you can order Guylian's menu through UberEats and enjoy the chocolate-y goodness without even leaving your couch.


La Renaissance Patisserie 

Have you been deprived of cakes and pastries while staying at home? Now is a perfect time to celebrate the lifting of restrictions with large volumes of cakes and it's winter, so fatten your curves. You can sit in La Renaissance Café and Patisserie's idyllic little courtyard and eat away the memories of the past couple of months with mouthwatering bechamel filled croissants and decadent french tarts.

La Renaissance are also offer $10 Sydney CBD delivery, including Waterloo and surrounding suburbs and free delivery for orders over $100. That includes all their decadent celebration cakes and pastries, as well as their practical frozen quiches, pies and sandwich 10-packs. Check out the details here.

The Mercantile Hotel

The Mercantile Hotel is Australia's oldest Irish pub, and Sydney's home of Guinness, great hearty meals and true Irish hospitality. Head to the pub and dig into their hearty menu which includes gems like The Shamrock Pie, a beef & Guinness pie encased in a light buttery pastry with mash & mushy peas, and their delicious Irish Chicken Curry served with rice and fries.

The Merc are also offering takeaway which you can pre-order and collect every weekend; Friday from 4pm, Saturday from 12pm and Sunday from 9am. See their website for takeaway details.

Mrs Jones Bar

Not to be left out of the “exit-ISO” celebration, Mrs Jones Bar, Dining and Terrace on level one will be open from noon on Friday 5 June, and the team are taking lunch and dinner bookings now for the long weekend. Mrs Jones is a great place to eat or simply sit back and sip away the memories of the last eight weeks with one of their fabulous cocktails. It’s about time!

P’Nut Street Noodles 

P’Nut Street Noodles are back and open for your dining and takeaway needs. The team are sanitising to the highest standards and using only takeaway containers to limit contact. Plus, they’re still serving those delicious South Asian classics you’re craving, from Pad Thai to mee goreng and prawn dumplings.

P'Nut Street Noodles are also delivering on UberEats, Deliveroo and Menulog. (They’ll even throw in a free snack if your UberEats order is over $35!)


Pony Dining

From the Pony Dining family to yours, dinner is now on the table. The amazing Pony chefs have designed the 'Pony Express Market Box' with ready to eat wholesome, healthy meals designed for the individual, couple and the whole family.

Tayim serve a modern interpretation of Middle Eastern cuisine - think duck fat potatoes with taramasalata and lamb shoulders that fall right off the bone. Usually you’d need to book in advance and wait for a table but these are exceptional times - check out Tayim’s Facebook page soon where they’ll soon be announcing when you can dine in and new takeaway options. 


The Orient Hotel

Legendary pub, The Orient Hotel, has served Sydney through two World Wars, the Great Depression and even the plague of 1900 is still here, offering warm hospitality and cold pints. They're opening their doors up on Monday 1 June from 11.30am, so head on in for a refreshing beverage and catch-up with your nearest and dearest.

Try out their June winter warmer specials of Bangers & Mash or a hearty Guinness Pie, or our full range of pub classic meals that you've have missed during ISO.

The Tea Cosy

The Tea Cosy are open! Head in for dine in high tea or get your for delicious morning and afternoon tea delivered to your door. Indulge in their Delivered Scone Packages which include their famous scones, gourmet Australian-made jams and Double Thick Cream -  you will have the ultimate high tea at home.

For the vegans out there, The Tea Cosy have also introduced a vegan option for delivery with vegan scones, jam and coconut cream.

Wild Ginger

Wild Ginger have reopened for dining in from Monday - Friday, and they are also a great option for a date night at home. These guys are serving comfort Thai food family boxes including a favourites such as Pad Thai, Red Curry Chicken and Basil Prawn Fried Rice. Call them up for takeaway and delivery if you are located within 1km of the restaurant.
