This year, we're celebrating everything that makes us different (and the same). The theme 'Humanity,' invites us to look inside to find inspiration in all those things that make us uniquely human - love, kindness, compassion and creativity.
Join us in The Rocks to wander among out-of-this-world creations, marvel the sky as it lights up with the Love Is In The Air drone show, or sit down for a feast from the heart. Reconnect with friends old and new as you stroll through The Rocks Markets and settle down for a warm Night Picnic at Dawes Point Park which offers some of Sydney's best views of the dazzling Opera House. There's also a diverse program of free live music to enjoy. And if you're looking to expand your social network, book in for one of our fun social events hosted by Conscious Connection.
From 6pm each night, see The Rocks transform with inspiring projections and installations that spotlight the essence of humanity.
We are our faces. They are a canvas for human emotion and expression. An invitation to connect. Mutual States explores this idea, putting the complexities of emotion and the self on full display.
Step into a canopy thick with countless LED ropes and connect to our shared humanity. As individuals, we are connected by countless invisible threads — a fact Angus Muir explores in this technicolour, immersive installation. Wander through a circular 'forest' of luminous ropes, run your fingers along the strands and press any of the eight interactive posts to set off dynamic patterns.
The grey of the Harbour Bridge Pylons explodes into a kaleidoscope of surrealistic, colourful life. Watch as Indigenous artist Tori-Jay’s exaggerated, cartoonish characters explore humanity’s deep connection to nature, through the prescient story of the Torres Strait 8.
Follow the Vivid flock along the Light Walk where you’ll spot stylised light sculptures resembling our native birds. This ‘birdwatching’ adventure highlights the diversity and survival skills of Greater Sydney's feathered friends whose habitats and existence are encroached upon by our sprawling cityscapes, increasing populations and lifestyles.
Hit the road with national icon Reg Mombassa as retro-futuristic robots, one-eyed koalas and other strange creatures take over Customs House. As one of Australia’s most beloved artists, Reg immerses us in an other-worldly journey, presented in his signature style.
Play board games, have a chat and savour good food in heritage listed gin bar, Frank Mac's. This games night is designed for ages 30-45.
Enjoy a wholesome night out where you can make a group of new friends, play board games, have a chat and eat good food at The Glenmore. There are two events catered for ages 20-35.

Love Is In The Air Drone Show
What the world needs now is love, sweet love... and at Vivid Sydney all you need to do is look to the sky to find it. Join us at Circular Quay to see the sky dazzle with over 700 drones. Saturday 8, Sunday 9 and Saturday 15 June. Time to be announced.
