July School Holidays at the MCA

Let the art of the Jackson Bella Room inspire your senses at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. This school holidays, join us in the Multi-Sensory Lab for a sensory adventure and creative making activity for the whole family.

This workshop is inspired by the Jackson Bella Room commission, With cane in hand, I dance a duet for One, for Two, for Three, for Four... (2021) by artist Fayen d’Evie. You will be invited to try a mix of activities that inspire the senses:  creating wearable artworks, deep listening and using your bodies as instruments and movement makers. Together we will be learning simple movement choreography created by Queer Blind Dance Artist and Maker Holly Craig.

Every workshop concludes with a celebratory parade through the MCA to showcase your creations.

Participants are supported by MCA Artist Educators throughout the workshop. This activity is recommended for school-aged children 5-12+ and may not be appropriate for younger children.

Please note, booking times cannot be swapped and all children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout their visit. Siblings 4 years and under are free.
