Weaving Workshop
Looking for a unique and hands-on experience that celebrates Sydney’s rich Aboriginal heritage? Discover the traditional art of weaving, a skill that was integral to the daily lives of local mobs around Warrane (Sydney Harbour).
Connecting the Sydney foreshore areas, Tallawoladah (The Rocks), Barangaroo and Tumbalong (Darling Harbour) through the shared experience of this traditional craft, our workshops led by the incredible women of Ngumpie Weaving, offer a blend of practical skills and cultural insights.
Each week you'll have the chance to hone your weaving skills starting from the basics, and then exploring more complex designs, creating your own stunning woven pieces to take home.
No need to reserve your spot, just turn up and enjoy the chance to discover a new skill, connect with your community, and gain a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of our city.
