Sydney's oldest pub The Fortune of War has expanded its offering with a 60-seat bistro

COMING SOON!

Located on George Street in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney's oldest continuously licensed public hotel now houses Bistro 1828. The name pays homage to 1828, the year former convict Samuel Terry built the venue. Bistro 1828 occupies the adjoining heritage-listed spaces that previously held The Push Bar and two retail stores.

The venue boasts high ceilings and original windows that overlook the cobblestone streets of Globe and George. It features an open-plan kitchen and bar, and is open seven days a week. Fortune of War has brought on board Mark Williamson (ex-Bistro Moncur) as its executive chef. Whether for an intimate gathering or a larger event, bistro 1828 is designed to cater to any occasion.
