Badge Making Workshop

Enjoy a crafternoon of badge making while learning about local history these school holidays.

This school holiday season, join The Rocks Discovery Museum for a fun-filled afternoon of badge making while discovering the rich local history of The Rocks and celebrating NAIDOC Week 2023.

The "crafternoon" activity is a great way to engage children in learning about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the importance of NAIDOC Week.

Participants will have the opportunity to make their very own Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander badges.

This year's NAIDOC Week theme is "For Our Elders", and the Museum is excited to explore it with the young participants.

The program aims to educate children about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, their meanings, and the significance of NAIDOC Week in Australian First Nations history and heritage. The Rocks Discovery Museum experienced and knowledgeable educators will guide children through the process of making their badges and share fascinating insights about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. By participating in our program, children will develop an understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations people.
