A Guinness & Oyster Festival will take place in The Rocks on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August. Free to attend, the festival will be hosted by The Doss House with events and activations throughout the sandstone courtyards off Kendall Lane.

As well as thousands of freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters courtesy of oyster partner East 33, there will be food from Colin Fassnidge including pig on a spit, colcannon turnovers and beef and Guinness pie, and live music.

Guinness stalls will be set up throughout the space plus there will pop-up bars from Irish spirits distiller Drumshanbo, bourbon producer Basil Hayden, whisky distiller Glenglassaugh, as well as Slane Irish Whiskey and Benriach whisky. There will also be ticketed tasting sessions hosted at The Doss House and Frank Mac’s.

The Guinness & Oyster Festival has been created by Ciara Doran from Heritage House Co., the owner of The Doss House and Frank Mac’s, with support from Colin Fassnidge and seafood expert John Susman. Inspired by Galway’s International Oyster Festival, one of Ireland’s most popular food festivals, Ciara is anticipating this inaugural Guinness & Oyster Festival in The Rocks will become an annual event.

“Although the concept of pairing oysters with Guinness might be new to many people, I have no doubt when they taste the salty brine of an oyster alongside a creamy Guinness they’ll be converted. I’m Irish and both my bars The Doss House and Frank Mac’s have Irish influences in them, so this festival feels like an authentic celebration of my Irish heritage. We’ll also have live music plus plenty of other food and drink options so it will be a great way to enjoy a couple of hours over the weekend,” said Ciara.

As the following events are ticketed and can accommodate limited guests, it is recommended you purchase tickets in advance of the weekend. All events are now on sale.
