Australian Poetry Slam returns to The Rocks! The national competition for spoken word returns in 2026 with heats across the country to find this year's APS Champion. Come along to The Rocks Heat for a beautiful Spring evening of spoken word, sign up on arrival to enter or sit back and watch an inspiring event hosted by Adara Enthaler, with feature performances by Dai Moret and 2023 Champion Rob Waters. Whether you’re performing as a poet or supporting local wordsmiths from the crowd – this is the place to be.

Adara Enthaler
Adara Enthaler is a spoken word poet and the host of Enough Said Poetry Slam on Dharawal Land. Adara has featured at the South Coast Writers Festival, Yours & Owls Festival, Heroines Festival, Story-Fest, Narellan Poetry Slam, Wollongong Writers Festival, Viva la Gong, the National Folk Festival and more. Her work has appeared in the Heroines Anthology Vol II, Baby Teeth Journal and the Baby Teeth Anthology, as well as her self-published poetry chapbooks Equidistant (2018) and Crowdsourced Poems (2022).

Dai Moret
Dai Moret is a Brazilian-born, mixed-race performance poet and actress. A bilingual writer, she works across poetry, theatre and music, and is the resident poet for Latin jazz band Ally.
A two-time Bankstown Grand Slam winner (2018, 2022) – Australia’s largest poetry slam – Dai is one of the few poets to achieve this twice. Her work moves between political, sensual and personal themes. With a background in psychology and acting, she brings emotional depth and theatrical presence to her performances. Dai has performed at major festivals including Sydney Writers’ Festival, Vivid Sydney, Melbourne Spoken Word Festival and the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival.
At the heart of her work is a belief in spoken word as a force for empathy and social change – creating space for stories to be felt, shared and understood.

Rob Waters
Rob Waters is the 2023 Australian Poetry Slam Champion. Rob has over 20 years of experience writing, performing and teaching Story. Rob empowers people in communities to use oral storytelling and poetry to share their ideas with the world.
His debut collection of poetry, I Will Speak Now, was published by Word Travels Press in 2024.
Rob has deep cultural connections to the North West region of New South Wales. He is a proud father and grandfather living on Darkinjung Country.
