With something as joyful and spectacular as Christmas, why not have it twice? 

What’s not to love about Christmas, the presents, bonding time with family, friends and let’s not forget the food food food! We may have it good in Australia, but we’re a few snowflakes, mulled wine, and toasty fires away from great. From the picturesque snow lane to live concerts and the Firepit Cinema, this festival will become your preferred way to say hooray!

The Christmas in July festival will take place in The Rocks from 10 - 19 July. Families, friends, and Christmas enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to gaze through a memorable combination of free and ticketed experiences.

European Markets

If your idea of Christmas joy involves melted cheese, hearty fare, and a little European flair, you’re in for a treat. This year’s festival features over 30 food pop-ups and just as many artisans, offering everything from traditional eats to charming handcrafted goods.

Food highlights include bubbling raclette, classic Swiss-style fondue, gnocchi tossed in creamy mushroom sauce, oversized German hot dogs, Austrian schnitzels, and yes, even lobster rolls. And for those with a sweet tooth? Picture sugar-dusted waffles, cinnamon scrolls, flaky French pastries, and Nutella-stuffed crêpes begging to be devoured.

While you digest, stroll through a thoughtfully curated artisan market bursting with snow globes, handmade ceramics, gourmet pantry items, perfumes, and woolly winterwear. Whether you’re on the hunt for a unique gift or just want to browse in a cosy, candle-lit setting, it’s hard not to get swept up in the festive spirit.
 

Snow Lane

A real Christmas tree alley and dazzling lights await you as you stroll through snow lane with flakes drizzling from above you. Walk through the snow falling and let the magic transport you. An experience to remember and your ultimate Instagram moment! 

Sydney Firepit Cinema

Cosy up under the stars at the Sydney Firepit Cinema, one of the most enchanting experiences at Christmas in July in The Rocks. Nestled near the historic Cadmans Cottage, this unique outdoor cinema brings festive films to life with crackling fire pits, twinkling lights and a truly magical winter atmosphere.

Gates open 30 mins before your session.
Seating is unallocated, recommendation is to arrive early.
