Map, showing The Argyle

The Argyle is an icon of Sydney nightlife with six bars set over two stories and a spacious sunny courtyard. Come for the delicious drinks and bites - stay for the epic live performances.

When the Argyle opened in 2007 Sydney’s bar scene was never the same again. This iconic club supercharged the city's nightlife, with an epic lineup of local and international DJs, bands and performers.

There’s something for everyone here with six separate bars, two levels, a sunny courtyard and countless places to chill out, drink and dance. Perfect for after-work gatherings, weekend cocktails, large groups, functions or quick drop ins - this is the ultimate Sydney bar and nightlife venue.

Welcome to Sydney’s best bar: The Argyle

Inside a heritage building in the heart of Sydney’s most historic precinct, The Rocks, you’ll find Sydney’s best night out. Two centuries ago this building was a warehouse called the Argyle Stores, but now it's a multi-story bar, live-music venue and eatery.

The Argyle courtyard is one of the city’s best, with sandstone walls, all-day sun and a nearby bar so you never have to go far for refreshments. It’s the perfect spot to spend an afternoon in the sun with friends, work mates or family - or stick around for a while to see the atmosphere electrify as the fairy lights turn on and the stars come out.

If you’re after a big night, delve deeper into the building and discover its many dancefloors, bars, stages and chill-out areas where thousands of locals have had their ‘best nights ever’. There’s neon lights, local characters and intimate performances by icons of house music, R&B and party anthems. Visit almost any night of the week and expect packed dancefloors and guaranteed good times.

When the lights are on you’ll also notice that The Argyle building is a charming, historic warehouse, and a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner (and a few drinks).

The best thing to do in Sydney this (or every) weekend

Wondering what’s on in Sydney this weekend? Check the Argyle’s calendar for a list of DJ nights, live performances, themed parties and Sydney events, including performances from some of Sydney’s best-known talents.

Friday and Saturday nights are legendary, featuring two rooms that heave with huge tunes and bumping dancefloors. Saturdays also regularly feature Sydney’s biggest DJ lineups, while special event parties like Halloween, and Melbourne Cup take the revelry to the next level.

Our advice? Book a VIP entry to skip the queue and enjoy special treatment for a night out you won’t forget or come early for one of the best happy hours in Sydney. From 5pm-7pm Wednesday to Sunday you’ll get:

  • $5 House Beers (including hazys XPAs and ciders)
  • $5 House wines (Red, Rosé, White & Sparkling)
  • $6 House Spirits
  • $8 Aperol Spritz
  • $8 Espresso Martini
  • $8 Frozen Cocktails
  • $10 Long Island Iced Teas (The O.G. or Tropical)
  • A bunch of other $8 and $10 cocktails.
  • 10 cent dumplings (seriously!) and $5 pizza.

Also on the menu are a selection of over-the-top cocktails, including the delicious mangorita with patron silver and mango, 1-litre cocktail carafes, frozen cocktails, delicious shots and even 3-litre shared cocktails. A large wine and beer selection is also available.

The Argyle is extremely popular (with good reason) so it's strongly recommended that you book in advance to avoid disappointment and lock in a night at Sydney’s best bar!
