Over Halloween weekend, Sydney’s most haunted neighbourhood, rich with tales of mysterious sightings, restless spirits, and shadowy figures, will transform into a ghost town. 

From Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November, The Rocks becomes Sydney’s Halloween playground. This historic district will host Ghost in The Rocks, a free street festival of wild food, theatrical drinks, live music, immersive experiences, art, cinema and more. Roam the laneways, dress for the occasion and build your own night across a precinct transformed after dark. Free festival entry, with selected ticketed experiences.

Poliakov Haunted Woods
Step into a Southern Gothic bayou where 20+ haunted wood cabins serve outrageous American-inspired comfort food and limited-edition Halloween creations. At the centre, the Poliakov Vodka Main Stage keeps the Woods moving with live DJs, bands and crowd challenges, while theatrical bars pour blood-bag cocktails, syringe shots and icy creations. Come hungry. Stay after dark.

The Murder Bar
Hidden deep in The Rocks, the Murder Bar feels like an abandoned hotel lounge that has reopened for four nights
only. Settle in for fine wine, whiskey tastings and crafted gin cocktails as live jazz fills the room — accompanied by
a ghostly pianist who appears to have unfinished business. Dark, elegant and made for a slower drink after dark.

Cadmans Cottage
Ghost Cinema

At historic Cadmans Cottage, classic horror films and cult favourites flicker to life under the night sky. Settle in with popcorn and themed drinks as candlelit corners, dark shadows and the heritage setting blur the line between the movie and the world around you. Ghost Cinema is an outdoor screening experience where the location is part of the suspense.

Halloween Market
The Halloween Market returns as a dark emporium of oddities woven through The Rocks laneways. Wander
between market stalls and curious finds as roaming performers and strange characters appear when you least
expect them. Inspired by old-world travelling circuses, it is a night market made for slow roaming, unexpected
discoveries and a little mystery around every corner.

Most of the festival is FREE! If you just want to stop, shop, and eat, you don’t need tickets to join the fun!

The Rocks is easily accessible by train, lightrail, bus, and ferry, with Circular Quay station just a short walk away. Public transport is the most convenient option as roads can be busier than usual on event days.
